Fiskerton West Solar Farm

Flood Risk Assessment to support a planning application for a solar farm on land at Fiskerton Airfield.

The Fiskerton West Solar Farm development extends to approximately 76 hectares of land, generating up to approximately 49.9MW of electricity directly from sunlight, equivalent to powering approximately 11,000 homes, potentially offsetting over 13,300 tonnes of CO2 every year equivalent to taking around 5,000 cars off the road.

From analysing all available flood risk information in relation to river, groundwater and surface water flooding KRS Enviro produced a detailed site specific Flood Risk Assessment. In addition, an assessment of surface water runoff rates and alterations of natural surface water flow patterns was undertaken in order to determine the surface water options and attenuation requirements for the site. Satisfactory collection, control and discharge of surface water runoff was incorporated within the design to support the planning application.
